Books I've read so far this year...

1. The human Christ: the search for the historical Jesus by Charlotte Allen. [I forget this one. Ancient history interests me, but I thought this one was a little on the dry side.]
2. Lisey's Story by Stephen King
3. Orientalism by Edward Said
4. I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb
5. The curious incident of the dog in the night-time by Mark Haddon
6. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
7. Language death: The Life Cycle of a Scottish Gaelic Dialect by Nancy C. Dorian -- Surprisingly, this is pretty interesting, probably their discussion of East Sutherland Gaelic included the history of said region and its speakers
8. Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand -- Long. It's over a thousand pages, and it only took me a few months to get through this one...

The two books I wanted to get from the library appear to be checked out: The Bone People by Keri Hulme and The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. Looks like I'm going to have to find something else until they come in.

Limiter would be mad, but.......

I own "Devil In the White City" and would be happy to loan it to you. I enjoyed it, although it does move very slow at the beginning. Once it picks up you'll be surprised at how fast it reads.
