What about going downhill? For me, that was the worst part of the entire hike because I kept slipping on things. I managed to fall on my ass three times. And slipping off the trail would have been very very very bad because of the rapids below. I noticed that friends of mine who were wearing hiking shoes were faring a lot better than I did and were able to lend me a hand on some of the more slippery areas.
