I keep thinking I need to pick up the Dresden Dolls albums. Have you heard AFP's solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer? I'd actually never even heard of her until she started hanging out with Neil Gaiman, and I'd heard of the Dresden Dolls but hadn't heard any of their music.
