It depends on the preposition and the case you use in a sentence (accusative, dative, genitive). And then there are some seperate rules as well...
It's really hard to explain the difference if you're not a teacher *g*
All I can do is giving you examples or helping out with finding the right case but I don't know if that'd be helpful.
