Follow that squirrel!
This evening, I was waiting for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
doomsey to finish working on our outdoor spigot so that we could go get sushi for dinner. I wandered into the front yard, and saw a squirrel sitting on our lawn. I got the feeling that it might be the squirrel that was causing our problem. It saw me and then ran towards the back of the house. I assumed that it was headed for the porch. (I had seen a squirrel or two shimmy up our porch and onto the roof a few weeks ago). I told doomsey what I had seen and told him to keep an eye out and watch what it did. I lost it for a few seconds, but doomsey spotted it running across the top of our roof. We both watched it approach one of the vents, duck under it, and wriggle its body into our attic.
Busted! So totally busted!
doomsey and I are thinking that it chewed through the screen that was covering the vent. It looks like we're going to have to get that replaced once Terminix comes out and traps the squirrel. I'm also guessing that it built itself (or is building) a nest in the attic too.
[ETA:doomsey told me during dinner that he officially hates squirrels. He had a squirrel problem at one of the apartments he used to live in. Said squirrel chewed through the screen door leading to the balcony. He came home from school one day and saw it sitting on his dining room table eating a muffin].
