A Picture a Day -- Week 14

[livejournal.com profile] doomsey took the good camera with him to Boston, so Saturday and Sunday's pictures suck. Saturday, I was too exhausted from lack of sleep to go out with my somewhat decent camera to take pictures so I used one that I had taken on my cell phone earlier that day. [livejournal.com profile] doomsey isn't coming home until late Tuesday, so Monday and Tuesday's pictures are going to suck too.

Monday, March 30th:

[livejournal.com profile] cosettemonster and [livejournal.com profile] arwenmonster tend to fight a lot over who is the top cat, so this almost never happens.

Tuesday, March 31st:

On Tuesday afternoon, I went to the Willowbrook Wildlife Center to take pictures. They had a bald eagle and a golden eagle in a large enclosure outside. In most of my pictures, I struggled to get the camera to focus on the critter I was hoping to get a picture of. Usually, it wanted to focus on the bars or mesh in front of them. This picture was an exception. I got it to focus on the eagle, and you can barely see the bars that were in front of it.

Wednesday, April 1st:

On Wednesday, I went to Brookfield Zoo to take pictures. I got a lot of really good ones, and it was hard to choose one for my picture of the day. I settled on this one from Tropic World because I liked how the two spider monkeys seemed to be lovingly looking at one another. I'm probably going to post a few more pictures from my zoo trip later.

Thursday, April 2nd:

Outside looking in. This is my kitchen window from the outside. I have sage, parsley, and catnip in the window. They've all been looking pretty sad since winter. [livejournal.com profile] doomsey thinks that I should replace them with fresher plants later this spring.

Friday, April 3rd:

I went for a short walk with my camera last week and saw this guy. Anybody know what kind of bird this is? A wild canary maybe?

Saturday, April 4th:

A bunch of us were at a baby shower for a friend, when all of a sudden, the ceiling started to leak. It dripped on one of my friends at the end of the table. On Twitter, I told everyone that there was a shower at the shower.

Sunday, April 5th:

Brrr...cold. Overnight, we got an inch or two of snow, which really messed up the roads this morning. By about three or four in the afternoon, most of it had melted. I hope that this is the last of the snow for the season.

RE: the bird in Friday's picture? I know what kind it is - it's a yellow one.

/ducking and running now/

Well thank you, Captain Obvious, I didn't notice that at first, but now that you pointed it out, I can see it. So..how did you know? :)

'Cuz it wasn't a bluebird, or a redbird or a blackbird. Obvious, my dear Watson. *G*

It is ... ::drumroll:: an American Goldfinch! (hurray for the Internet)

Great pictures. Especially since they start off with cats. Cats are win. Other pictures, win as well.
