More things going boom...

The sound of this particular problem is squish-squish, and it was caused entirely by human error. doomsey turned on the hose after I had finished mowing the grass in order to water some grass seeds we had put down near the side of the house. Well...he went to turn it off, but ended up turning it on more. We went out to an Irish wake for a friends dog, and fortunately, when we got back, I still had a load of laundry to put in the dryer. I stepped in a puddle and I realized that it was seepage from having the hose by the side of the house. I also noticed that there was a lot of water, and I realized that doomsey probably hadn't turned the hose off. So...I called him and told him to make sure it was off. We're really fortunate that I had to do laundry last night. Otherwise, we wouldn't have discovered it until morning, and then we would have had a bigger mess on our hands. On the bright side, there isn't that much damage downstairs. Only one empty box, the ends of some wood, a little bit of carpet got soaked. Fortunately, the carpeting is water resistant and we have a dehumidifier downstairs.

So...it looks like our water bill is going to be slightly higher next month...
