It seems like the only thing working for me is Sudafed. I swear, the Alavert has been doing nothing for me.

By the way, I think Dayquil is evil incarnate. I got into a lot of trouble taking that stuff when I was in college to help me get through midterms when I had a bad cold. I ended up with asthmatic bronchitis and I was sucking on my inhalor every couple of hours. My cough was awful for the longest time too. I remember going out to lunch with friends and having people stare at me like I had tuberculosis or something... So yeah...I tend to stay away from cough medicine and that dayquill stuff...

You can try picking up some Claritin-D; it's basically a combination of extended-release loratadine and pseudoephedrine (Sudafed).
