In honor of today's LJ strike, I bring you...SPAM!

[Edit: And why this showed up three freaking days after I tried to post it from YouTube, I have no idea why].

Have you ever heard the Spamity Spam WONDERFUL SPAM! chorus sung by over a hundred questionably sober people? I have! And it was started in honor of ME!

Waaay back in the day, in 1989...I wasn't Lady Curmudgeon yet. I was Spammy, at least to my wargamer friends. Anyway, my alma mater showed Rocky Horror that year around Halloween. Wargamers, at least the crew I hung with LOVED (hell, still love, will ALWAYS love) Rocky Horror, and had a far greater love for Monty Python. The "Spam" chorus popped up quite a bit when I was around.

The queue to get into the show was LOOONG and getting LOOONGER by the minute and we were all bored. Some of ijits who were also in the line started a riot like thing, pushing and throwing their prop stuff around (including RAW EGGS and CHOCOLATE SYRUP, hello?!??! what was THAT!?!?) to cure their boredom. The school cops and the sherriff's department were dispatched to wrangle out the wrongdoers, and as they arrived...

One of the guys busted out...spam spam spam spam SPAMITY SPAM! WONDERFUL SPAM!!! It caught on. The wargamers all turned towards me, pointing, some on bended knee, mind you, and sang their hearts out for I don't know how many choruses. It was where my Love of Geek Men began...

Ah, sweet memories...;)

ETA: Dad's side of the family is Norwegian. The whole damned Viking lot of them love/loved SPAM. I, myself, not so much, but I do like to keep a can in the house to ward off Evil Spirits...

I'd do that, but my luck, the can will fall on my foot, triggering another embolism.

Maybe I shouldn't buy so many canned things anymore. Obviously, they're a health hazard.
