Okay. They died because they didn't get enough water. I thought that the rain we had had was sufficient. I was wrong. I learned from my mistake and will have better luck next year.

By the way, we're also going to have tomatoes and squash coming out of our ears this year. Not bad for my first attempt.

There's only one pepper. I took multiple pictures of it.

I am going to have tomatoes coming out my ears in a few weeks though.

And no, making him eat it is not punishment. He *loves* things that are spicy. I once saw him eat one of the world's hottest peppers. Also, when we went to a Thai place, he assured the waiter there that they can indeed make it "much hotter." The hotter the better.
