Volunteering for Obama Campaign

I wrote about this in Twitter, and I thought I would elaborate on it in an LJ post. Yesterday evening, a volunteer working for the Obama campaign got in touch with me. I will indeed be canvassing door to door up in Kenosha, WI for the campaign on September 20th. So...yeah...I'm really excited by this. In 2004, I felt like I sat idly by and helplessly watched as Bush got re-elected for a second term. This year, no matter what the outcome of the election, I'll feel like I had at least done something, no matter how small, to get things moving in the right direction. Honestly, I'm really worried what's going to happen to this country if we get yet another Republican in the White House for the next four years. Like, how about we start looking for other sources of energy instead of drilling up in Alaska for oil?

Wow, my town! Good luck... The people here are very conservative, so it might be a very "fun" experience. Do you know whereabouts in Kenosha you'll be canvassing?

I am pulling for Obama. I don't have time to get involved in helping his campaign, but, I will definitely be voting for him.

We do need other resources. Even if there was drilling in Alaska, what would we do when that source runs out?

Ok. We won't actually be in town on the 20th... That's the baby monster's 1st birthday, and the grandparents are freaking out birthday party style. But I will remember to leave an "OBAMA/BIDEN/NEKOSENSEI ROCKS!" sign on my door, just in case you come to my place by happenstance. :D

But it sounds like a lot of fun. Good for you for getting involved!
