Monday, January 12th:

This was taken during our snow storm on Monday night. We were supposed to get a blizzard on Tuesday and Wednesday, but that never happened...thank God! I used flash to get this effect.

Tuesday, January 13th:

This is an odd looking snowbank that formed against our house. Notice how it peeled away from the wall, but froze in such a way that it hasn't fallen over. Last I checked, it's still out there.

Wednesday, January 14th:

This is [livejournal.com profile] cosettemonster. I thought it was cute how she curled up into a perfect little ball like that. The temperatures were starting to dip, so she must have been feeling arthritic and cold.

Thursday, January 15th:

A cold sunset. I went outside and took this on our coldest day of the year. It was probably -7F or so.

Friday, January 16th:

This is a picture of the starter that I use for my Amish Friendship Bread. I leave it on my counter and feed it sugar, flour, and milk periodically. After ten days, I use one cup of the mixture to bake two loaves of bread. I set aside another cup in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag so that I can feed it more sugar, flour, and milk and repeat the whole process. This is a cycle that can repeat itself in perpetuity as long as I keep feeding it every few days. The parts that I don't use I either throw away or give to a friend.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] emygination calls the starter "bread puke" because...well...it looks like puke and, when you open it up, it smells bad because of the fermenting yeast.

Saturday, January 17th:

This is the Doctor Who scarf I'm working on. It's about 75% done.

Sunday, January 18th:

This evening, [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I had dinner with his family. This is a picture of my three-year-old nephew, who had passed out on the living room couch because he didn't get his nap today. [livejournal.com profile] jharter41 tells me that this happens a lot and that she has pictures of him conked out pretty much everywhere: the couch, the floor, you name it.

The picture from Thursday is just gorgeous. And the minute I saw the scarf, I was like "Doctor Who scarf!!" never thinking that it actually WAS one.

Amusingly enough, I found the scarf I started back when I was a teen shoved in a closet at my parents place. If I could remember how to knit, I might try to finish it.

I love the light in #4 and -7F is really freaking cold! I still have to google how much it is in Celsius =)

The Scarf! It's huge! *cheers*
