10. Abundance by Sena Jeter Naslund -- This is another book that was loaned to me by a friend (have to return that and a few other books she loaned me, by the way). It was a lot more interesting that I thought it was going to be. It's historical fiction about Marie Antoinette. According to the author's note, she tried to create as accurate a portrayal of the monarch as she could using personal memoirs. I particularly liked her descriptions of life at the royal court at Versailles. What was even cooler was that both [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I visited Versailles in 2005, and I had seen some of the rooms and paintings that she described.
