Books I've read so far this year...

1. The human Christ: the search for the historical Jesus by Charlotte Allen. [I forget this one. Ancient history interests me, but I thought this one was a little on the dry side.]
2. Lisey's Story by Stephen King
3. Orientalism by Edward Said
4. I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb
5. The curious incident of the dog in the night-time by Mark Haddon

I'm also working on Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, but I have a feeling that this is going to be a book that I will keep picking up and putting down in favor of other books over the next couple of months.

Oh...and I've only read five books and it's already March. This is why I didn't do the 50 book challenge. I'm slow because I have other things I want to do other than read all the time (such as working on my niece's baby blanket). That, and I tend to pick more difficult books. Orientalism was not an easy read.

The "Curious Incident..." book was really good, IMHO. How is "Lisey's Story?" I've been thinking about reading that.

I actually thought The Curious Incident was very informative...especially since I know people with Asperger's and Autism. I knew something about it, but reading something from a person with Autism's point of view helped me understand how they perceive the world and what they need to go through in order to adapt to it...

As for Lisey's Story, I kind of like it. I mean, it's Stephen King, so it's not high art or anything, but it had an interesting plot. I also think that the style on this one is a bit different from his other novels. It's horror, but it's also a love story in a sense. I thought it was kind of interesting...
