arwenmonster has been acting very strange. Yesterday, she would only let doomsey and I pet her in small doses. If I pet her too long or in the wrong place or if I tried to pick her up, she would start hissing and growling at me. Then, last night, she wandered into our room after midnight and started cuddling with us. I'm thinking that maybe she realized that we were worried about her? She started headbutting doomsey and I. She purred and tried to give me a bath with her tongue after I pet her.

Today, I made the mistake of trying to pick her up, and again she's hissing and growling at me, but she let me pick her up when she was sitting on the bed. Sometimes she'll let me pet her, and sometimes she won't. This is all very confusing. I don't understand that cat at all. Anyhow, because her sinus infection is sounding worse than normal and because of her erratic behavior, we're taking her to the vet tomorrow afternoon.

[Edit: We will also be talking with the vet about tranquilizers for when she needs to be brushed, have her nails trimmed, or taken anywhere in the car.]

[Another observation: She didn't joing doomsey and I downstairs when we were watching a movie, which is very unusual for her. Oh...by the way...I was the only one watching the movie. doomsey chatted on IRC on his computer and looked bored.]

That sounds like Popoki every day! She hates being picked up, and will never lay on a lap or come within reach, although she's almost always in the same room as me.

The only exception is in the morning, when she becomes extremely friendly, wants to be petted, and generally won't leave me alone.

Well...she didn't use to act this way, and quite frankly, doomsey and I are afraid that a change in her behavior might mean that she's sick or in pain...

I've talked to the vet before about tranqs for Arwen and she didn't seem to think that they would necessarily help (she said something about some cats becoming *more* anxious on tranquilizers, and if that happened to Arwen...well, I'll come to your funeral).
