doomsey and I have barricaded the door to the basement and the door that leads to outside. We have also sealed the windows leading into the basement. About a month ago, we had some people come in and drywall our garage. We took all the crap out of the garage and put it in the unfinished part of our basement. We haven't put any of the stuff back yet (neither have we painted), and it looks like our laziness paid off. We had a lot of wood, some nails, and a hammar. Maybe we're going to get through this after all. Heh heh.
Oh...and I have just made myself a nice strip of wood with nails sticking out it...and I also have a broken-off screwdriver. It's not much, but I believe I now have a weapon. Hmm...this might turn out to be better than a handy-dandy baseball bat that I've been talking about getting, but never got around to. I always figured that a good, sturdy baseball bat would come in handy in case of a home invasion. Besides...when feeling my physical safety is threatened, the idea of whaling on random shit makes me feel really good.
Let's see...we also have a nice pair of garden shears. Hmm...this might come in handy. I don't think the leaf blower is going to be of any use though. Does anybody out there know how one can "creatively" use a leaf blower as a method of home defense?
Oh God! I just heard footsteps upstairs. Oh...and just now something went crash. I thinksomeone something took out the curio with all my knick-knacks in it. There went my lladros. On a good note, I think they got that annoying clock too...
*clutches her weapon*
Oh gross! Whatever it is up there, it smells foul!
The cats are not happy at all. They're both cowering because they know something is up. We opened up the closets earlier so that they have a place to hide. Oh...and the last thing we need is them freaking out, knocking something over, and letting the bozos upstairs know that we're here. If that happens, we're toast. I hate to say this, but maybe we shouldn't have taken them down here with us.
doomsey and I are remaining dead silent. Whoever they are, I hope they move on. The zombies don't seem all that bright, so maybe they'll overlook us if we remain really really quiet.
