I am having an allergic reaction to something. I'm getting these little bumps on the inside of both arms. I wonder if I have poison ivy or poison oak in my backyard. Either that or I'm allergic to the black-eyed susan plants. I was brushing up against them while trying to weed the areas around them. I got some calamine lotion from CVS and I put it on.

*sigh*

I am clearly having a bad day. My knee is stiffening up and I can't walk...I itch...and my husband is acting all pissy at me. I swear...I'm never going to go in my back yard again...

Wear long sleeves. And anywhere you don't wear clothing...put on a good rubbing of Vaseline or some other "greasy" sort of skin lotion. When you're done...wash off with dish soap and the irritating plant oils will come off with the vaseline.

I'm allergic to a couple of common weeds...and it's the only way I survive gardening when they're cropping up.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have to try that. Seeing as I only broke out in a rash on my arms, it looks like I got it from something I was rubbing against and not necessarily something I picked.

My knee is still hurting though. doomsey sent me a message of something he looked up online and it looks like I need to make an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow.
