I desperately need to do laundry. Does anybody out there have any ideas as to how to get laundry baskets down two sets of stairs on a bum leg? Right now, it looks like the best option is to chuck them down the stairs and hope they don't bang into anything too important on the way down. Then, I can hobble down the stairs, pick them up, toss them down the next flight of stairs, and then drag them to the laundry room and put them in the washing machine.

Tie a rope to one side, slide it down the stairs in a controlled manner. Later, pull it up the stairs, carefully.

Yep, I'm highly in favor of the throw it down the stairs plan. Second only to the make hubby do it plan :)

I decided not to toss it down the stairs since my Katuba (not sure if that's spelled right) is on one of the walls off the stairway. I didn't want to knock it off the wall. I got it down the stairs by backing down them and leaning on the laundry basket. My husband told me later that he had thought I wanted to get laundry done today and had planned to take the baskets downstairs this morning before he left, but he forgot. I also forgot to ask him to do it. I could have waited for him to get home, but I'm stubborn.

I think he's annoyed at me because I went to the grocery store and gimped around there. I hate having him go shopping for me because he'll whine and complain that we don't need such-and-such and we don't have to have it. Well, at least I had the brains to ask for help out to the car.

Dag...I'm beat. I'm spending the rest of the day on the couch...

I use laundry bags, and roll them down the stairs. Maybe you could make some bags out of bedsheets?

if you stand a couple stairs down from it you can just grab the edge of the basket and drag it down one stair at a time, its rather easy, not getting them upstairs that will be the challenge!

That's pretty much what I did. I think I'm going to leave getting them upstairs and put away to my husband. I'm pretty sore.
