19. The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith -- I believe I heard about this one on NPR about a year or so ago and I decided to read it when I saw it in the book discussion section of my library. It is the first of a series of novels about Precious Ramotswe, a woman who uses the money she inherits from her father to establish the first detective agency in the entire country of Botswana. I have to say that it was fun reading about how the main character uses women's intuition and knowledge about her town in order to solve cases. There were a couple of instances in which I had a good laugh. I would have to say that I would definitely recommend this book...
