Following in the Footsteps of Steve Irwin
Jul. 30th, 2007 08:13 pmI was knitting again today so of course that meant that I was watching Discovery Channel. They seem to be in the middle of their Shark Week programming. In the last show I watched, three people-- we'll call them Huey, Duey, and Luey-- who decided that it would be a good idea to go swimming with Great White Sharks without a cage. At one point, they were interviewing Duey, who stated that all of his family and friends thought he was nuts. My reply to the television: "That's because you are!" At any rate, I kept watching the show hoping that someone would pull a Steve Irwin or, in other words, get eaten. I'm kind of morbid like that. At one point, Huey decided it would be a great idea to see if he can ride on a shark's back. Bloody brilliant! Too bad I didn't get to watch what became of that folly.
*doing her best Steve Irwin impression* "Crickey! It's a Great White Shark! Let's get a closer look, mates, and see what she does!"
