First they were saying that we were going to get 1 to 3 inches of snow.
Then they said that we were going to get 3 to 6.
Now it's 6 to 9 inches??

It really doesn't sound like they know where this storm is going and how much snow it's going to drop on us, do they?

It's only mid-December and I'm already sick of snow...

My folks and I had the same reaction last night when we watched the 9pm news. We started to wonder if they'd made a tactical error staying two nights here instead of pushing on to Minnesota sometime Saturday afternoon. I shoveled this morning before my folks got their truck loaded to leave and I think there was maybe two inches to push around, in some cases it was a bit higher where last night's winds made it drift.

Woo. Hoo.

My conclusion? The news channels are idiots1. I guess the new scheme is to make it seem like zOMG BIG SNOW STORM SCARY SCARY because that gets more ratings, or viewers, or whatever.

[1] No, this is not really a revelation to me.

I've always held fast to the opinion that Meteorology is the only four year degree based almost solely on guess work.
