[livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I have been watching a lot of movies lately. On Thursday, we watched Winter Light, a movie by Ingmar Bergman. I was too tired for a serious movie and ended up making fun of it. I'm surprised that [livejournal.com profile] doomsey didn't jab me in the ribs for talking during the entire movie. Oh...and I still think it would have been a better movie if the body count had been higher...

On Friday, we went to movie night at [livejournal.com profile] voidness' place and watched Stardust. I thought it was an entertaining movie. Oh...and Robert DeNiro's character was *hysterical*.

This afternoon, [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I went to his office's Christmas party. Afterwards, we met up with his family and saw I Am Legend. I *loved* it. It was very scary. [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and [livejournal.com profile] emygination thought that the shots of an abandoned New York City were beautiful, but the plot wasn't that good.

This reminds me of the anecdote between Charles Bronson and Bergman, where Bronson explained how the machine gun scene he was shooting worked. Fascinated, Bergman exclaimed, "I never knew that's how it works!" Surprised, Bronson said, "You mean you never had machine guns in your movies?"

I guess you never really got into it if you still feel that more body count would have made it a better movie.

I think the problem was that I was too tired from lack of sleep for a serious movie...and that it wasn't necessarily the move itself...
