1. The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
2. The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman

3. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte -- This is another book that I read for [livejournal.com profile] strikereaders. It is a very sad story that, surprisingly, has a happy ending. I wouldn't mind reading more books from this period. Which reminds me, one of these days, I have to finish reading Wuthering Heights.

If you like those...and like Austen...you might want to try Frances "Fanny" Burney. She's not taught as much as the Bronte sisters...or Jane Austen...but was VERY popular at the same time. Evelina, Camilla and Cecelia are her three best known books...and the ones you're most likely to find in print.

I really recommend The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.
