Now that sashimi has passed on to happier hunting grounds, I'm thinking about finding another aquatic animal to replace him. What should I put in my five gallon fish tank? I'm stuck between another betta, which [livejournal.com profile] doomsey would prefer, or two African dwarf frogs. I already have a Chinese algae eater in the tank, and I'm a little bit concerned that a younger betta would give him a hard time. So...time for a poll. What do you think?

Also, for those of you who are more experienced in raising fish, feel free to leave your two cents in the comment section. I would appreciate the advice.

Having had a betta fish in a communal 30-gallon tank, I actually had no problem with having a bunch of fish in it. I'm moving to a new apaprtment so I'm debating on setting up my tank again. I had 2 algae eaters, 1 betta, 2 sword tails, 2 angelfish, and other assorted small-type, well-behaved fish.

Just a thought.

Hmm...how long have you had the betta?

I don't have him now, but I had him for 3 years before I had to give him away. I think he survived another year in a communal tank before going to the big fishbowl in the sky.
