The title says it all. I've been using ethernet cable to hook up to the internet because it's been faster lately. Today, I went to use the wireless and noticed that it wasn't working. I got an error message saying that no airport card was found. I turned off the computer, took out the battery, and rebooted it. Then, I pulled up the wireless. I thought I had it working and was about to send an IM to [livejournal.com profile] doomsey saying that the problem was fixed when the entire computer crashed. In fact, every time I tried to pull up the wireless, the computer would crash. Nice! I called [livejournal.com profile] doomsey again and he said that it sounded like a hardware problem. So...you know what this means. I get to send my computer back in to Apple again. I'll be without it for another week.

GRRRRRR!!! Seriously, I told the people over at Apple that the wireless was being flaky. Why couldn't they fix it the first time around?

*stomps off to go break things*

Dude, I would be furious too. That would be the equivalent of cutting off my right hand.

If you have applecare or if it's still under warranty I'd take it to an apple store. If it's just the wireless module they can usually swap it out within an hour.

... if it's a model that doesn't have the wireless integrated into the motherboard. :-/

You can't just tell them "it's been flaky" -- you usually have to tell them exactly HOW it's been misbehaving and be able to reproduce the problem. This would be why I had to bring my old laptop in 5 times with the same problem before they bothered to fix it.

Of course, my little lemon has well equipped me for dealing with Apple's "Geniuses" :P

No, K isn't out a computer; I am. She borrows mine because she needs it for teaching. I'll be using a Windows Vista laptop. YUCK! (Talk about the wireless being flaky -- and that's when it's working just fine.)

I love my Mac.

Actually, I was going to try to make do with the desktop downstairs for now. I don't know why [livejournal.com profile] doomsey told you I was going to borrow it again. I have all the recordings that I need to do for work done.
