Heart palpitations. I hates them I do.

*glowers*

Okay. I'm not exhausted today because I didn't go for my walk yet. I also didn't have caffeine. It's hot outside, but I'm sitting inside where it's air conditioned. How do I make them stop? They're annoying as all hell and, to me, they're kind of scary. Any ideas? Anyone? I have a feeling this is going to be like asking people how they stop the hiccups

Right now I'm resting and drinking plenty of water.

Betablockers?

Besides I don't think you have to be afraid. Unless it gets very very bad, the training is probably just good for your heart.

My doctor said that they're benign when she heard them, so I doubt she'll prescribe me something for them. Actually, they seem to be getting a bit better. It appears that sitting still for awhile and drinking water did the trick. I also tried to keep myself busy so I wouldn't notice them as much and freak out. Also, my husband and I had skipped lunch and we sat down to an early dinner. I wonder if eating something helped too. Who knows?

Yeah...I don't understand.

So...I guess that's another thing that I'm going to have to talk to my doctor about the next time I see her, huh?

I get betablockers for my family tremor. Basically my nerves are overly sensitive and if I am the slightest bit tired or hungry my hands tremble like I'm eighty years old. Luckily I just have to take a betablocker and I'm fine but I believe their main use is in arythmia and blood pressure.

Still, if my doc will prescribe it just for trembling hands, surely you could get it for palpitations that makes you nervous.

Just take it in stride. Try not to panic and know that you aren't going to die of them. And if you do die... you die. There's not much you can do about it. That's what I do.

Sorry if that isn't bright and cheery, but I'm not really that way either. =P

Heh heh. That sounds like a comment my husband made not too long ago. It went something to the effect of "if you drop dead, it's not your problem. It's my problem. So stop worrying about it."
