Monday, April 27th:

I was going to head over to the park to take pictures of tulips and/or spring buds on trees, but I never made it there because it started to rain. I did manage to get pictures of two trees before the rain came. I thought this one came out somewhat okay.

Tuesday, April 28th:

Tip-toeing through the tulips... I really like the tulips with the red and yellow strips by the way.

Wednesday, April 29th:

OMG! Panic! Swine flu! :)

By the way, the mask is from when I had to climb up into our attic to lay a trap for the squirrels that had invaded it last spring. I did go out and buy more hand sanitizer and some vitamins though...

Thursday, April 30th:

On Thursday, I found out that Wired had linked to our little story on Twitter. In the article, they referred to it as "viral improvisation." *snicker* So...I decided to take a picture of the novel I was referring to-- it's the same exact copy I read back in junior high school-- and my twitter profile. There is also a cat in the background who had once again stolen my seat and refused to move. Instead of fighting with her, in the picture she went. I think she looks bored and maybe somewhat annoyed from me trying to shoo her earlier.

Oh...and we're still telling the story! I've been having a *ton* of fun doing it, and I've probably been more than a bit silly. This reminds me a lot of Blog Like It's the End of the World, only much longer. I'm also wondering exactly how many people are portraying the characters. I'm guessing that there's six to ten people involved, but who knows? In the process of this whole thing, I think I found a new use for Twitter. Wouldn't it be cool if a bunch of people got together and created original fiction instead of retelling someone else’s story? *hint hint hint*

Friday, May 1st:

I thought these were honeysuckle, but when I showed [livejournal.com profile] forestdruid the picture on Saturday, he told me that they were not. He also mentioned what they were, but I've forgotten. Hey [livejournal.com profile] forestdruid, if you're reading this can you tell me what kind of flowers these are?

Saturday, May 2nd:

On Saturday, we went to an art fair that had Raku firing, and this is a picture of one of the workers taking a glowing red vase out of the kiln. [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and bought a vase, painted it, and had it fired. Unfortunately, it blew apart in the kiln because there were air bubbles in the clay. They let us pick out another vase, but when we went back we noticed that it had a piece missing out it. We had no luck. They told us that they had only five pieces damaged, and I think two of those pieces ended up being ours. Oh well. We ended up taking the last piece and setting it up on a shelf so that you can't see the part that's broken off.

Sunday, May 3rd:

On Sunday afternoon, I planted bulbs and did some weeding. The next-door neighbor's kids were out, and they waved me down to tell me they had caught some garter snakes. I looked at them and made sure what they were catching were actually, you know, garter snakes, and not a copperhead or anything. :) After they had caught about four snakes from their garden, I asked them if I could have one to put in my garden. They're a great thing to have around because they eat bugs. Anyhow, I grabbed my camera and took a couple of pictures of it after I let it go. Hee hee! I like snakes.
