Monday, May 11th:

On Monday, I purchased and planted eggplants, peppers, and strawberries. I already had four tomato plants in the garden thanks to [livejournal.com profile] forestdruid's mom.

Tuesday, May 12th:

On Tuesday, I went for a walk with the camera trying to figure out what to take a picture of because I was drawing a blank. Then, I saw a crane flying overhead. I couldn't get my camera out of my bag in time to take a picture of it in flight, but I figured that it was heading to the small pond in the cemetery a few blocks from my house. I decided to walk that way to see what kind of waterfowl I could take pictures of. There was one crane, one egret, and a variety of red-winged blackbirds.

Wednesday, May 13th:

This was a present from my mom's cousin, which she bought me while she was visiting Ireland. According to the label at the bottom, it's Irish Dresden. It has quite a bit of sentimental value to me because my mom's cousin is no longer with us. Out of all of the people I have lost over the years, I think her loss hurt the most. She died when she was only 55 from a heart attack brought on by a drug her doctor had prescribed for her. She was very close to the family, and she came to all of our holiday dinners and graduations. Like me, she enjoyed musicals, and she took my sister and I to see Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, and Showboat downtown.

Unfortunately, the cat has a chip on the bow because [livejournal.com profile] doomsey was monkeying around with the shelf the figurine was on and the entire shelf fell. I had that and a lladro I had bought in Spain on that shelf. I was not a happy camper. Fortunately, the figurines in question only chipped; they didn't break into pieces.

Thursday, May 14th:

I took a variety of pictures, but I like how this one turned out. I'm amused by how the sparrows are silhouetted by the early evening sky.

Friday, May 15th:

A friend's four-week-old baby. She's so adorable. When I was holding her, they thought that, at some point, she was going to wake up and start crying for food, but that never happened. She must have been pretty comfortable sleeping in my arms. Before we left, S. told [livejournal.com profile] doomsey to watch out because I have a knack with babies. :)

Saturday, May 16th:

[livejournal.com profile] fuzzyscribble and [livejournal.com profile] samcallahan's dog, Rerun. His expression in this picture makes him look like he's smiling. What I really think he was doing was looking expectantly for food because we were grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats.

Sunday, May 17th:

The lilacs in front of our house are in bloom, and they make the whole front of our house smell nice when we have the windows open.

Thanks for the lovely picture of Rerun. He's very photogenic, but we never get tired of his pictures.

I think that bird in the second picture is an Egret actually instead of a Crane.
