Monday, May 11th:

On Monday, I purchased and planted eggplants, peppers, and strawberries. I already had four tomato plants in the garden thanks to

Tuesday, May 12th:

On Tuesday, I went for a walk with the camera trying to figure out what to take a picture of because I was drawing a blank. Then, I saw a crane flying overhead. I couldn't get my camera out of my bag in time to take a picture of it in flight, but I figured that it was heading to the small pond in the cemetery a few blocks from my house. I decided to walk that way to see what kind of waterfowl I could take pictures of. There was one crane, one egret, and a variety of red-winged blackbirds.
Wednesday, May 13th:

This was a present from my mom's cousin, which she bought me while she was visiting Ireland. According to the label at the bottom, it's Irish Dresden. It has quite a bit of sentimental value to me because my mom's cousin is no longer with us. Out of all of the people I have lost over the years, I think her loss hurt the most. She died when she was only 55 from a heart attack brought on by a drug her doctor had prescribed for her. She was very close to the family, and she came to all of our holiday dinners and graduations. Like me, she enjoyed musicals, and she took my sister and I to see Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, and Showboat downtown.

Thursday, May 14th:

I took a variety of pictures, but I like how this one turned out. I'm amused by how the sparrows are silhouetted by the early evening sky.
Friday, May 15th:

A friend's four-week-old baby. She's so adorable. When I was holding her, they thought that, at some point, she was going to wake up and start crying for food, but that never happened. She must have been pretty comfortable sleeping in my arms. Before we left, S. told

The lilacs in front of our house are in bloom, and they make the whole front of our house smell nice when we have the windows open.
