Monday, October 19th:

I bought and started carving a Doctor Who themed Halloween pumpkin. This was my first time using a pattern to carve a pumpkin. When he got home from work, [livejournal.com profile] doomsey actually laughed at it because it didn't look anything like Doctor Who. He said that I should have gone with a simpler pattern. I thought the same way until I put a candle in it to see what it would look like lighted up. It didn't look half bad.

Since the pumpkin took me much longer to carve than what I expected, I only got half of it done. I had to finish the rest of it on Wednesday.

Tuesday, October 20th:

More fall colors.

Wednesday, October 21st:

My finished Doctor Who pumpkin. I got a lot of compliments on it from parents of trick-or-treaters this year. Having said that, I still think I'm going to choose an easier pattern next year. That took a lot of time.

Thursday, October 22nd:

A curry dish that my husband made for dinner. Yeah...I probably couldn't come up with anything better because it was raining and I couldn't get outside to take pictures. We have been getting an incredible amount of rain this fall.

Friday, October 23rd:

I spent Thursday evening through Friday afternoon worrying about my cat. As I mentioned before, I took her into the vet because she was drinking more water and doing a lot of peeing, which suggested that maybe her kidneys were starting to go downhill. The vet took a urine sample and said that she thought something was up because what she collected was pretty dilute. On Friday, I called the vet and found out that her kidney values were slightly wonky. She wanted me to bring Cosette in again so that she could do an ultrasound of her kidneys to check for stones. She also wanted to measure her blood pressure because high blood pressure could also damage kidneys. My vet discovered that both were fine. She determined that Cosette didn't need medications or fluids at this point. She told me we that I did need to bring her back in again in three months so that she could re-check her kidney values. She also told me that if she starts losing her appetite or if she gets really pukey, I should also make an appointment because those are signs that she's having more problems with her kidneys.

Saturday, October 24th:

This was the picture I was trying to go for on Friday, but couldn't get. Poor kitty has a shaved belly from the ultrasound. Did I mention that[livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I have been making quite a few shaved cat jokes these past two months?

Sunday, October 25th:

A little something I was reading to prepare me for NaNoWriMo. Later, [livejournal.com profile] judygs told me that I probably should have read Eats Shoots and Leaves or Lapsing into a Comma because they're much more entertaining.
