How many useful devices have come about because they were dreamed up by a fantasy or science fiction writer? Cell phones look a lot like Star Trek communicators. Yes and that Arctic laser pointer is extremely dangerous too. Frankly it is gross negligence even selling it. The laser is so powerful (It's a class-4 blue laser) it can burn and blind people. They pull the diodes from laser based movie projectors used in large theaters.

Any nutcase with $200 can buy one of these things and blind airline pilots from miles away.

It's stupid they allow this to be sold without any sort of license or permit. It has no legitimate use as a laser pointer.
