Yet Another Reason Why Cats Rule...

Last night, I was in a lot of pain, probably because I was on my knee too much. The back of the bad knee hurt like hell, and I managed to make my other knee sore by trying to drag myself up the stairs in front of my house. I was not a happy camper, and complained whenever I had to get up and move somewhere. I ended up not going to bed until late because I didn't feel like dragging my sorry ass upstairs. cosettemonster must have figured out that there was something wrong because, when I finally made it to bed, she decided that I needed extra special attention. She usually sleeps at the foot of the bed by my feet, but last night she wandered further up the bed and curled up beside me. She kept purring happily until I fell asleep. What a sweetie!

Chores...

I desperately need to do laundry. Does anybody out there have any ideas as to how to get laundry baskets down two sets of stairs on a bum leg? Right now, it looks like the best option is to chuck them down the stairs and hope they don't bang into anything too important on the way down. Then, I can hobble down the stairs, pick them up, toss them down the next flight of stairs, and then drag them to the laundry room and put them in the washing machine.

Laundry

The laundry is downstairs and in the washer. I decided that giving the laundry baskets the old heave-ho down the stairs wasn't a good idea since the Katuba is hanging on the wall by the stairs. I was afraid of knocking it off the wall with a laundry basket and having it break on me. Instead, I went down the stairs backwards step by step and leaned on the laundry basket. That worked. I damn near stepped on arwenmonster since she thought it would be cute to sit on the stairs. I swear...that cat is as dumb as dirt.

I'm wiped. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day on the couch downstairs.

Tonight

doomsey and his family are going to The Dollar Store Show at the Hideout tonight. I'm skipping it because going into the city sounds like too much of a production. There's no place to put my leg up if it starts bothering me. That and I'm babysitting laundry.
