Monday, August 3rd:

On Monday, I went to Hobby Lobby and shopped for yarn and other supplies. I plan on using this yarn to make a Slytherin hat and scarf.

Tuesday, August 4th:

Why did I take a picture of mangoes? This is why! *snerk*

Wednesday, August 5th:

There was a beautiful full moon on Wednesday night.

Thursday, August 6th:

[livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I saw this on the way to the airport. We're thinking about submitting it to failblog.

Friday, August 7th:

[livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I left for Seattle on Thursday. On Friday, a bunch of us drove to Mt. Rainier and hiked up to Comet Falls. We were planning on driving further to Paradise, but it was too foggy and we couldn't see anything, so we turned around and headed back to Seattle.

I also took a bunch of video during the hike to Comet Falls. I spliced them together using iMovie and posted them to YouTube. You can watch it here.

Saturday, August 8th:

Snoqualmie Falls, which is a half an hour outside of Seattle. I also took some video and posted it to YouTube. Too bad I messed up the video from the top of the falls because, personally, I thought it was much prettier from that vantage point. You can find the video here.

Sunday, August 9th:

On Sunday, we went to Pike Place, the Science Fiction Museum, and Experience Music Project in downtown Seattle. I took this picture of the Space Needle from outside the Science Fiction Museum. By the way, the Science Fiction Museum was amazing. They also had a Jim Henson exhibit there.

Too bad we only had three days to spend in Seattle and surrounding area. There were a bunch of other places I would have liked to have seen. Hopefully, one of these days, [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I will go back there. I'd love to rent a car and tool around Washington and parts of Oregon.

All in all, I really enjoyed my trip to Seattle. It's a beautiful place. And unlike Chicago, the place actually has topography-- ie mountains, hills, lakes, and oceans. I also understand that their winters are much milder. I think, out of all of the cities I've visited, this one is my favorite. I could see myself moving there. And [livejournal.com profile] doomsey could also find himself a job there as well! The only thing stopping me is that I've grown roots in Chicago. All my friends and family are here. I'd probably be homesick if I moved away.

Yum, mangos. Seattle is a fantastic place, I heard. Winters do get a lot of rain, though. Great pictures. :)
