I've been a bad [livejournal.com profile] nekosensei and haven't posted in almost a week. Sorry! My bad!

So...what have I been doing this past week? On Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I went to art in the park. We didn't buy anything this time around, but we did pick up some cards from a few artists we liked. Maybe we'll buy from them later this year. I really like this artist, and this one...and also this one.

Sunday evening, [livejournal.com profile] judygs, [livejournal.com profile] forestdruid, and his fiancee came over to watch the latest Doctor Who episode. [livejournal.com profile] forestdruid came to my house bearing various tomato, eggplant, and pepper seedlings, which I planted in my vegetable garden on Monday afternoon. I also did a bunch of weeding that day.

Tuesday and Wednesday were busy with work work and school work. Thursday I bought poblano pepper and acorn squash seedlings. I also got some cilantro and basil plants. Mmmm....cilantro...me loves the smell of cilantro. Future plans for my yard are adding more wood chips to the flower beds, planting a Japanese maple (which I've been meaning to do for years), and buying a hammock. Of course, I'm half tempted to hold off on the wood chips this year because they're going to replace the water mains on our street and they're probably going to have to rip up part of our front yard. I guess I'm going to have to see what the city is planning to do before I start working on that.

I've also gotten back into my old habit of walking three miles a day. And the past three days I've walked about three-and-a-half miles. I used to do a lot of walking in 2008, but stopped at the end of the year and eventually fell out of the habit. Seriously, you people need to yell at me if I stop going for my walks because they're so helpful: I have a lot more energy and I don't get the munchies quite as much when I'm exercising.

I've been reading LJ sporadically, so if I missed something, sorry! If there's anything you think I should know, please send me a comment.

*Tonight is Passover. [livejournal.com profile] doomsey and I are going to his parents' house for the passover seder this evening. Because they invite so many people over--more than twenty, including kids-- the whole thing is usually very chaotic. Too bad there's not a snowball's chance in hell of them doing this version of the Haggadah. (Link swiped from [livejournal.com profile] tx_cronopio

* Two female bombers blow themselves up in a Moscow subway station -- Thankfully, a former classmate of mine-- who is living in Moscow for a semester-- left a message not long after I read this saying he was okay and that he didn't get caught up in any of the insanity. And if you haven't read it already, you should go read [livejournal.com profile] ginmar's post on living in Moscow. It's very well written. (Link swiped from [livejournal.com profile] ginmar)

* Awwwww (Blame [livejournal.com profile] sheilagh)

* BBC Wildlife Photo Masterclasses -- I'm definitely going to have to download and read some of these guys since I particularly like doing nature photography and wildlife photography. And speaking of photography, I'm thinking about making a zoo trip sometime this week. I haven't been there in a few months...and I need to renew my membership.

* I have much coolness to share with you. I'll have to do it tomorrow though because it's getting late, I'm tired, and my eye is pissed off for whatever reason so I can't see so well right now. I also haven't slept well for the past two night and OMG! I need to sleep.

* Listening to what sounds like a blackbird or a red-winged blackbird outside. God, I love spring.

* Went outside to take pictures of the blackbirds, and I'm glad I did because the weather is gorgeous. It went up to 63 degrees. 63 degrees! In March! Anyhow, I think I might have gotten a few good photos of some blackbirds and a random robin.

* I haven't even gotten out of my chair yet, and already Cosette is trying to steal my seat...the little shit.

* Did I mention that I really enjoy having artists on my friends list? Sometimes, they post links to more artists. A few days ago, [livejournal.com profile] kiwikat posted a link to Ashely Witter's art. Go look. I think her work is kind of neat.

* Great. I'm an idiot. There were two people I was supposed to buy birthday presents for, not one. Well, I will see the other person in a week or two, so it's no big deal. I can give them their present then. I still feel like a moron though.

* Posting these two links more for myself so that I can go back to them and read them. I really need to get back into writing that book I started in November. Or at least spend more time writing in general. But no, I keep saying I should do it and then put it off...

* There were eleven of us playing Apples to Apples today. [livejournal.com profile] judgys got the red cards bongos and bon-bons for the word, profound. I thought that was amusing for whatever reason.

* So...we're supposed to get about eight inches of snow Sunday night into Monday. What happened to the spring like weather??
